Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to Grandpa Johnson!
Hello again...Not much has really changed since the last post, but I received a request to add more pictures. So, here are a few random pics...first our poor cat, Einstein, and dog, Cleophas, dressed up on Halloween as a bumble bee. This is the problem when you don't have kids, you torture your animals. :) Then is a picture of Aramis with his brother, sister, niece and nephew on graduation day. Last, but not least, my brother and oh so cute niece, Aaliyah, when they were visiting this past summer. This weekend my parents and I are going up to Redding to visit my sister and have Thanksgiving dinner with her since we won't get the chance on the actual day. I can't believe Thanksgiving is already around the corner...with Christmas following shortly after. My friends at work, and I are always saying that the older we get, the faster time goes by. Oh to be a kid again.

Okay, so I'm a little late on starting a blog, but hey I'm finally doing it. What a great way to keep in touch and up to date with family and friends, especially for those of us, ME, that are not so good at it. Because this is my first entry I would like to give a little background on me and my family. Aramis and I have been married for four years and now call Vacaville, CA our home-sweet-home. We bought our house last October and while we are not as close to those we love, we have really grown to love the "small town" feel in Vacaville (and the great shopping) :). Aramis recently graduated from Univ. of Phoenix with a degree in Criminal Justice. He works in San Francisco as an Animal Control Officer, and is currently going through background to work in probation. For those of you that know Aramis, you know his passion is animals and kids. I have been working at Sierra Eye and Tissue Donor Services for the last 6 1/2 yrs. as an ocular distribution coordinator. I never would have imagined working in the field of organ and tissue donation, but it has been an amazing experience to see how it truely saves lives.

Our family includes two cats and a dog...we are hoping that will change soon with the addition of a child. Our lives have been filled with ups and downs, unsuccessful at getting pregnant, and beginning the process of adoption. Which brings us to our most recent exciting news...WE'RE CERTIFIED!!!! Can you imagine it's only taken us FBI background checks, DMV checks, two parenting classes, First Aid/CPR certification, Home Safety inspections, Interviews, and ten months to get to this point. Now can you see why we're so excited to finally be certified? There is still a process to go through, but at least we made it and can move on to the next steps. Thank you to all our family and friends that have been so supportive through out this process.

I hope this gives you a good peak into the Hegler Family, and I think I will say goodnight for now...
